Terefe Alemu was born in 1986; he is a Zhengzhou University PhD candidate scholar in Management Science and Engineering from Ethiopia, since September 2023.

He graduated his bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from Mekelle University, Ethiopia in 2009. He received his Master degree in Leather Goods and Accessories Design from Footwear Design and Development Institute/FDDI/, India in 2014, and he holds another Master degree in International Trade and Economics from National Aviation College, Ethiopia in 2021.

He has work experiences in research, manufacturing industries consultancy, teaching and leadership since 2009. He has been worked at Ethiopian Leather Industry Development Institute, Ethiopian Technology and Innovation Institute and Ethiopian Ministry of Innovation and Technology.

His countable achievements were he received the certificate of recognition for his contribution toward the manufacturing Industry sector as one of the best performer employee in the sector by Ethiopian Ministry of Industry and Leather Industry Development Institute in 2016;  Since, he joined a Zhengzhou University he has one journal article on the determinants of trade flow and potential between Ethiopia and group of twenty, and one book chapter on Leather goods design, manufacturing and quality.

His research interest areas are Technology and Innovation management, Innovation design thinking, System optimization, International Trade and Economics, E-marketing management, Productivity and Quality management system. Currently, He is conducting his PhD at Zhengzhou University, China under the supervision of Prof, Dr. Jianhua Zhang from the School of Management.
